YKI courses

The Finnishcourses.fi service offers YKI courses in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Turku, Tampere and Oulu. You can complete courses and degrees in different parts of Finland.

You can find a list of all YKI courses stored on the Finnishcourses.fi service and possible language tests via this link: Listing of YKI courses. If the page is empty, there are currently no courses on the site.

Information on the National Certificate of Language Proficiency

The National Certificate of Language Proficiency in Finland is managed by the Finnish National Agency for Education (Opetushallitus). Via this link you can view the YKI pages of the Finnish National Agency for Education: YKI pages of the Finnish National Agency for Education. The website is in Finnish, Swedish and English.

You can enrol for a YKI test only online through the Studyinfo service. You can find the direct enrolment page via this link: Studyinfo enrolment page. Be sure to enrol for the correct test level.

Remember that participation in the YKI language test is subject to a fee. Take an official ID document with you to the test. Valid ID documents include:

  • passport
  • identity card (photo identity card issued by an authority of an EU country)
  • alien’s passport
  • refugee’s travel document
  • chipped photo ID card of the Finnish Defence Forces

If you do not have an ID document, you will not be able to take part in the test and you will not get a refund.
